Director's/Principal's Message,
Dear Parent,
Welcome to The Sagar School – with a sprawling campus of 157 Acres, situated in the lap of Aravali Ranges, within the NCR segment of Dist Alwar (Raj), we are the biggest Not-For-Profit school to have come up in the New Millennium!
The state-of-art facilities in our sprawling campus, bestowed upon us so generously by our revered Founder and Patron, Dr. Vidya Sagar, India’s leading Intellectual Property Rights Lawyer, make our school truly unique.
Recipient of the International School Award (UK) 2010 and affiliated to the CBSE, The Sagar School is characterized by a powerful collaborative and professional culture. We are committed to creating leaders who firmly believe that dreams can be transformed into reality. Therefore, we encourage our students to believe in vision, trust, teamwork and the power of relationships.
The meticulously nurtured learning environment is stress free and fear free. It enables and encourages new ideas to flourish. Students are encouraged to persist in their quest for learning and acquire the requisite skills to excel in this information driven, globalized world.
Our project-based techniques are comprehensive and aim to develop all elements in the taxonomy of learning objectives. Not only that, they are also learner centric, and cater for the holistic development of multiple intelligences. Besides this, we also encourage our students to learn in their own unique mix of Visual, Auditory, Tactile or Kinesthetic ways. While every student follows the general curriculum, s/he is actively encouraged to develop talents and interests well beyond it.
Co Scholastic and Sports activities in our school are designed in such a way that they broaden the opportunities for students to manifest their talent, practice leadership, hone life skills and challenge themselves to develop interests in new areas. Compulsory participation in these activities boosts self confidence and enhances self-esteem as well as fosters positive relationships with peers, teachers, administrators and community leaders.
Being a fully residential co-educational school, the task of providing a home-away-from-home (separate for boys and girls) is a great responsibility. Keeping this in mind our hostels have been carefully designed to provide a safe, warm and caring environment for all our students. During their stay over here we help them to develop self dependence, create lasting friendships and learn the responsibilities and skills necessary to become good citizens besides deriving a set of morals and principles that they can successfully practice for the rest of their lives.
Last but not the least, promotion of a healthy lifestyle is a major concern at our school. Therefore the menu in our Dining Hall provides for an appropriate and nutritious diet so that the students develop healthy food preferences. That notwithstanding, children by virtue of their inexperienced but highly energetic nature are prone to hurt themselves or fall ill once in a while. In order to ensure that they have immediate access to medical services, our school has a fully equipped infirmary with a resident doctor in attendance round the clock. In the rare chance that a student or staff member requires prolonged hospitalization, we also have a tie up with a multi specialty hospital in the neighborhood.
In the end I would like to assure you dear parent that we at The Sagar School are resolved that our school will always prove itself to be the place where everyone is precious and appreciated for his or her intrinsic qualities. In other words, the atmosphere over here will constantly endeavor to focus on the complete potential of each and every student and will strive to foster in each one an undying enthusiasm for life-long learning. It is my ardent desire that our School forever be the place where staff members, parents and even other stake holders synergize their resources and creativity to enrich the learning environment in which our children can holistically and fully develop their physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual capacities.
Looking forward to receiving your child into our care,
Yours Sincerely,

The Sagar School was founded in 2000 as a co-educational, residential school by Dr. Vidya Sagar, a leading intellectual property and corporate lawyer. The school has been set up by Sagar Shiksha Sansthan, a non-profit making society registered under The Societies Registration Act (1860).
The school aims to ensure that its students achieve their highest academic and personal potential. It also aims to give them a firm foundation based upon an understanding of Indian culture, society and ideas. However, the school aims to use that base to build more globally aware citizens prepared for the rigors of the 21st century. This is encouraged through the curriculum and through visits, expeditions, exchange programs and school events such as European quizzes.
The school educates both boys and girls in classes IV to XII (age groups 8 to 17) and is affiliated with CBSE. Teaching is conducted in English in small classes with numbers limited to a maximum of 24. This allows the school to have a high teacher-student ratio, which ensures that individual needs can be assessed and individual help and support given.
The school has been built to accommodate 450 students. Its facilities allow students to participate in the widest possible variety of activities. This ensures that each student can find and develop his own individual talents. In the end, our aim is to create a well-rounded student capable of achieving his highest academic potential alongside shaping his well-developed and whole personality.
To be renowned as the school whose alumni:
Aim
Develop The Sagar School to function as a ‘crucible’ of democracy’ in which a child can grow up as a self aware, well rounded and well adjusted individual who can productively engage with other people and thereby attain self actualization.
Objectives
Institutional obligations towards students should include educational objectives covering the individual as well as societal domains so that students can fully actualise their potential:
Individual Domain
Societal Domain: (Globalized ‘Knowledge Society’)
We occupy a 150 acre campus in the peaceful Aravalli ranges in Rajasthan. We are just a one and a half hour drive from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. The buildings of the school were designed by the renowned architects Stein, Mani and Chowfla to blend with the natural surroundings and to meet the highest standards in terms of environmental protection.
The school has also been designed to be ecologically friendly. This is seen in our state of the art generators, our sewage treatment system and our commitment to planting the school with local flora and trees. Careful recycling practices within the school ensure that we help the environment rather than add to its depletion.
The Housing System
All students in the school are divided into four houses: Diamond, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire.
Students are accommodated in separate blocks for Boys and Girls with the youngest boys given their own accommodation in a Holding House. These houses are divided into blocks of 32 and each block has its own Houseparent who is responsible for the welfare and supervision of the students in his or her care.
For the older boys, a Senior Boys’ Housemaster ensures consistency between the Houses and House parents while a Head of Boarding ensures that all students are treated equally.
Within the houses, accommodation is comfortable and adequate. Students share a room with four or five others and each has a cupboard, work-area and bed allocated to him or her. Students within each room rapidly become firm friends and are eager to offer support to each other.
Computers
The school has two fully equipped computer laboratories with 24 computers in each. These are used for the teaching of computing to all age groups within the school. The school has a leased line to provide internet access.
Students are allowed to use the internet at set times in the week under staff supervision. Safeguards are set to ensure that students cannot access objectionable sites, chat with others or download materials from the net. This means that we ensure that every student is safe while on the internet and that the time each student spends is carefully controlled.
Laboratories
We have laboratories for each science subject as well as for Geography. These are fully equipped with the most modern equipment to allow students to develop their skills in practical science and to learn scientific theories through their own experimentation.
Library
The Library is extremely well resourced and is catalogued and managed by a trained, professional librarian. It contains reference books and resources selected by each subject teacher to enhance understanding of their subject. Materials related to CBSE examinations are also located in the library so that students can access syllabuses and past papers. In addition, we subscribe to a wide range of periodicals and magazines which provide both intellectual stimulation and relaxation.
Our library also has a varied range of fiction in English and Hindi. These books cater to all age groups and reading levels and the Librarian guides students to books which might be best suited to their abilities and interests.
Arts Facilities
The school has many facilities for the arts housed in our Performing Arts Centre. Here, we have a fully equipped dance studio with a wooden floor and mirror wall and a large acoustically-treated music room. Besides these, lie smaller individual rooms where students can practice their own instruments in a more secluded space. The school provides both Indian and Western classical instruments as well as more modern instruments such as electric guitars and drum kits.
In Art, we have three dedicated rooms and this allows us to develop students’ abilities in a wide variety of media. The school also has three other venues used for the arts. The auditorium is fully equipped as a venue for drama and music performances while an amphitheatre provides opportunity for external productions on a variety of scales.
Dining Hall
The school’s dining hall can seat over 250 students. It is a light and airy space which has the service areas in the centre with two wings for eating. This allows us to divide students by age group and by house.
At breakfast and lunch staff sits at the students’ tables to provide both supervision and a family atmosphere. These are times when students happily raise concerns with staff in an entirely non-judgmental manner. In the evening, dinner is a more relaxed meal with students sitting with their friends and with staff providing a watching but more distant eye on their behavior.
Sports Facilities
The school has an excellent range of sports facilities and has four dedicated sports teachers. In addition, we bring in, throughout the year, external coaches for intensive training sessions in specific sports.
Outside, we have a football pitch, a cricket pitch, a 400m athletics’ track and facilities for field events. In addition, we have a solar-heated swimming pool and courts for volleyball and basketball.
We also have a Sports Hall which contains three international standard squash courts, a basketball court, three badminton courts and other space which is used for table tennis and fitness training.
The Plaza
To support student needs, the school also has an area of shops and facilities for student use. This area is called The Plaza and has a barbers shop; a tuck shop and a public telephone service. The area in front of The Plaza is also used for school events ranging from concerts to dances.
Horse Riding

Medical Care
The school has a well-equipped medical center staffed by two trained nurses. In addition, a doctor visits the school twice a week.
In cases of emergency or concern students can be taken to the local doctor or hospital in school transport. Equally, students who need to visit specialists or dentists, opticians and others will have their visits arranged and co-ordinated through the school.
